Impact Cooling Announces Seed Funding Round to Accelerate Growth and Innovation
Birmingham, AL –10/7/2024 – Impact Cooling Inc., a hard tech startup headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, has launched a seed fundraising round to drive manufacturing growth and innovation. With this funding, Impact Cooling will add manufacturing and product design capacity to deliver solutions to the world's leading server manufacturers and deliver solutions that address cooling challenges associated with the ever-growing power consumption of today's chips.
After concluding a successful project with ARPA-E and securing our first customer, Impact Cooling is on track to generate positive cashflow within the next 18 months. Our organization will unlock significant revenue potential by supplying our patented drop-in air-cooled heatsink to the data center server market. This technology unlocks higher-powered chips that previously required twice the server volume and offers a more scalable and cost-effective solution compared to liquid cooling—making it ideal for data center infrastructure that cannot support liquid cooling.
The funding will be used to develop a pilot manufacturing facility, which will support product testing and low-volume manufacturing for current customers. Additionally, Impact Cooling will expand its technical staff to maintain its leadership in product development, intellectual property, and manufacturing, staying at the forefront of the industry’s technical advancements.
"Our air-cooled heatsink technology is poised to reshape the data center cooling landscape and enable double the efficiency of today’s air-cooling systems," said J. Cliff Denson, CEO and Founder of Impact Cooling. "With this funding, we will scale our business and continue to deliver solutions that address the critical cooling challenges faced by data centers and server manufacturers."
